Excellence in true H. Upmann fashion.

Harkening back to the days of old, H. Upmann Vintage Cameroon hits all the right notes. In H. Upmann’s golden years, all their offerings were wrapped in select Cameroon leaves. Now, H. Upmann brings that nostalgia back with this complex offering.

Fittingly covered in a well-aged African Cameroon wrapper, Vintage Cameroon houses choice Nicaraguan, Dominican, and Peruvian long-fillers held securely in place by a hearty Nicaraguan binder. Boasting a medium body, this highly-sought-after offering showcases well-balanced notes of nut, dried fruit, and sweet cedar nuances. Experience H. Upmann at the top of their game here, you’ll be glad you did.

H. Upmann Vintage Cameroon received a well-deserved 92-rating noting: "This coarse figurado has a perfect draw and burn. It has a toasty aroma and fine woody flavors. The finish has hints of coffee bean and cocoa."

I've been experimenting a bit more with the Upmann line of cigars, and while the AJ Fernandez Belicoso so far is my favorite, I've found a very nice cigar here in the Upmann Vintage Cameroon. I smoked a Nub Cameroon last week and I enjoyed it greatly for it's perfect medium body with hints of nuts and spice. It was not overwhelming in the least, and it was actually what I'd call in the perfect space between ehavy and mild. I wanted to get the taste for another Cameroon again so I opted for the Upmann Cameroon, a perfect choice in experimenting with a new cigar and also in choosing the wrapper that I want. This cigar is pretty nice, consistent and smooth.

This cigar features a really amazing draw, which I have been impressed by from some of the torpedo cigars I've smoked over the past few months. Before starting this blog, I was never partial to torpedo-shaped cigars, but in experimenting with new smokes over the last 5 months, I've found that those fears were unfounded. I've gotten some incredible draws from torpedo cigars, and this one was no different. I got so much creamy, spicy smoke from this torpedo cigar, and it was wonderful to pull from it the first time and get one of those delicious plumes of smoke I love so much.

As far as the body goes, I stated earlier that it is a perfect medium cigar, and that fact holds true throughout the entire life of the cigar. I tasted a little bit of fruit, spice, nuttiness, some cedar wood, and some toast. The aroma of the smoke is very toasty, warm and welcoming. I found this cigar to remain remarkably consistent through it's life, never getting too spicy or too mild. It's just a very good example of what a nice medium smoke ought to be, and I think most people would enjoy it. Hell, I enjoyed it a lot and I love a strong stick.

Anyone can enjoy this cigar, anyone. The Dominican tobacco is delicious, the wrapper is toasty and inviting, and the construction is brilliant. It isn't too complex, but what it is is a perfect medium body smoke with delicious flavor and many different notes to discover. I'm on board with everything in the Upmann portfolio.

Happy smoking! CB
