A classic through and through.

Experience the new side of Partagas 1845. Clasico features all the quality you've come to love from the classic Partagas brand. Consistently blended of Nicaraguan and Dominican tobaccos, and clothed in an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper all held together with a Connecticut Broadleaf binder, Clasico is a pleasant medium-bodied cigar.

A creamy profile is met with hints of toast and a nutty flavor for a great everyday cigar. Enjoy 1845 Clasico with your morning cup of coffee or on your way home from work for a relaxing cigar moment.

This cigar is one of the last in our shop to feel the wrath of the new and enacted excise tax in my state, meaning it's a relatively cheap cigar at a good size with a good name behind it. Partagas is usually known for making stronger Dominican offerings, but their 1875 Clasico is a rare medium-body build from Partagas with a woody Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper made for smokers of all levels and experience.

The Partagas 1875 is my exact definition of a mediocre cigar. It's decent, and for the money, it's really good for someone who is looking for a cigar simply for the smoke. I wouldn't say that it is bursting with any particular flavor, and I also wouldn't say that anything about it stands out above the rest of the market in terms of what it does right. Alternatively, this cigar doesn't do anything poorly: it has a solid draw. It has a solid burn. It nails it's body profile perfectly by being a classic medium-body cigar that you don't taste in the back of your throat. It gives subtle hints of the flavor it is trying to illustrate. It lasts for a reasonably long time, making it a nice experience, but overall, throughout the life of the smoke, I was not really amazed and not really let down. It's a bit boring and basic, and I'd define it as "just a smoke."

There is a certain creaminess to the smoke that I did enjoy,  and I loved the aroma put forth by the Sumatra wrapper. It's typically not a very aggressive wrapper and, when paired with Dominican tobacco, it provides a good amount of woody toast with some wine flavors buried underneath. That was a nice touch that I did enjoy. Overall, this cigar does deliver on it's price, and for what it is and what it costs, it's certainly a decent cigar. A bit boring, you won't be blown away by this one, but it's certainly aromatic and a bit flavorful, and for that I'd say that most people would probably enjoy this one if it ended up in their hands. Aggressive enough for a strong cigar smoker, yet mild enough for someone trying to venture out from the market's more mild offerings. It's solid, yet unspectacular.

Happy smoking! CB
